It's Valentine's Weekend and we are busy as can be. I have decided to step back as massage therapist and take on the role as House Manager and Hostess when we are this busy so the behind the scenes efforts goes more smoothly. I will do this more and more the busier we get and only take care of my Club Adobe Members and regular clientele for massage. It would be wonderful if we were a Membership Club only, but I think this will take some time.

I received a wonderful letter from Ivan Weiner of Reel Solutions. He gave permission for me to post the content of his letter wherever I deem appropriate. It was very complimentary! He has been telling everyone he knows in the movie industry that Your Private Adobe is a must see and the best spa and massage venue in New Mexico! I'm so excited about the upcoming possibilities we will have to service this industry.

Business as usual. Not much free time but my work is my passion. When I do have time off, I usually need to pay bills, do laundry, clean house, buy supplies and run errands. Although I did have a dear friend in town the first part of the week. We relaxed, and had a lovely dinner together at the Ranchers Club.

Urgggh.....a cancellation for Friday night just came in. I hope to not have to rethink my "no credit card deposit" required policy. When someone makes an appointment I count on them showing up, or it is lost income when they cancel.
I realize stuff happens and am very understanding, but in this case, I think they double booked, or decided they couldn't afford us.

We have had great reviews on Spafinder which makes us the top spa i Albuquerque. Heck, I heard from a VIP who tells his clients we are the best spa i New Mexico! I'm on Cloud 9 with the accolades.

Couples Massage in Albuquerque for Valentine's

A rainy day in ABQ, and it was wonderful. I especially loved sitting out in the hot tub while it was raining. I love my spa toys. I know some of you are going to think I'm a bit crazy, but here goes. I have been letting my cats in the sauna with me. Primarily, Sagan. I am hoping this will help with his allergies. He's on steroids and coughs and chokes when he does not have the medication in his system, which he refuses often. Nubio finally decided he likes it too. I did some research and found it is safe for animals, especially cats to bask in the infrared sauna. I'll keep you posted if it helps with his allergies!

Been busy, but not crazy busy! I finally purchased one large art piece to go along with some smaller metal art to hang by out at the hot tub. That was a missing piece. I want my guests to have beautiful surroundings at every turn her at Your Private Adobe. I will soon have some (2) outdoor chaise lounge chairs and be set-up for outdoor massages, and possibly even overnights in the Moroccan Tent. I love sleeping outdoors, and I know my guests would too. Luxury camping so to speak right in the heart of Albuquerque.

Still working on recruiting Club Adobe Members. Remember, I want it to be an exclusive membership program! I'm about 50% there in one week since I made the announcement. I'm elated to hve gotten the response I have gotten already. Thank you for believing and trusting me with your pampering and massage needs.

I interviewed another therapist today. Raquel, from Brazil. Her skills and knowledge are top notch. I am crossing m fingers for an exclusive filming industry late night contract. Her and others will help with this when it comes to fruition! Wish me luck!

If you have seen Your Private Adobe you know I have a knack for decorating. I am not trained, I guess I just have an eye for it I guess. I sometimes jokingly get asked to help people with their decorating projects. It is something I enjoy!

It's hard to have a social life. Too many people want to call for an appointment for the same day, and it usually does not work for me. Invariably every time I plan something fun, I turn away business, which is lost income for me. But because I have a good balance in my life of work and play, I am able to provide excellent service I to my clients.

Yesterday a new and very eccentric friend of mine surprised me with a town car and an overnight to Hyatt Tamaya. When I arrived he had strawberries and chocolates, spa gift certificates and roses for me. We had a blast, but I had to leave early the next day for an appointment. It was great to get away for the night, but men have a hard time understanding my business comes first.

Today I met Ivan Weiner of Reel Solutions. He is the private concierge to the filing industry. He was most impressed with my business and the massage treatments. Afterwards he said, "Toni that was not a massage, it was an experience. I won't hesitate to recommend you whenever I can" and I look forward to a rewarding relationship with you.

I signed up my second gold Club Adobe Member today! Several more of my regulars have also said they will be signing up too. I am really hoping for one Titanium Level Corporate member. It will turn around my entire business for me when it happens. Always thinking positive, really helps life.

A few days in review

It was quiet this week with business, but I did manage to get a few pressing administrative things done. I had a rewarding Women, Wine and Networking Party. It was suppose to snow that night, but luckily we have about 20-ladies show up. I had never met most of them so it was fun to network and meet new business women. I made some great contacts!

I finally got the Club Adobe Membership newsletter out to my clients and prospects! My first Gold Member signs-up tomorrow. I am so excited. It will be a very small and exclusive private membership club so I can still continue offering that excellent and personal service.I'll devote a blog entry just to this so it gets search engine results.

Tonight I had the night off and went with 2-girlfriends to for yoga, juicing, meditation and a home cooked healthy dinner. There were a total of 10 of us. Your Private Adobe would make a great place to host such an event too.

I interviewed another massage therapist to compliment my work and also provide specialities and modalities that I do not. She is another one who has gone through the medical massage program. Most of my guests want the relaxing massage, but for my returning friends, it is nice to offer them more variety and massages that addresses more specific therapeutic issues.

I've been using the Infrared Sauna almost every day. I love it. I feel clearer, lighter and know I have lost a few pounds. I can feel it in my clothes. Yippie! I am so appreciative of a dear friend from Denver who made the sauna possible for the adobe.

I am now going to be advertising on Film Crew New Mexico and met the owner of the company. I feel Your Private Adobe is the perfect venue for the celebrities and crew here for the filming industry. Even though i am happy where we have gotten business wise for such a short period of time, I can't back down on the marketing. In business, you have to keep a flow of new guests coming every week. Spafinder and our excellent reviews have been great for new business!

My neighbor has added a second statue to the "guard dog". The two piece metal sculpture is titled "Walking the Dog", by Ed Haddaway. It's a 20-foot tall rabbit in blue pajamas in pink slippers that is walking a 6-foot tall dog. It's adorable and it makes me smile when I look out and see it next door to me.
